Default Concept class: The Demonologist

Demonologist

Nothing original. If you've seen a Warlock/Demonologist/Summoner, you've seen them all.
The class works as a buffer/debuffer, pet class and an item conjurer for various effects.


ENCHANTING No inherent effect. Spells related to Enchanting become more effective
with higher Enchanting.

DEMONOLOGY Increases the maximum Health and Energy of your Demons by 1% per attribute point.
Spells related to Demonology become more effective with higher Demonology.

CONJURING No inherent effect. Spells related to Conjuring become more effective
with higher Conjuring

CONTROL (Primary) Decreases the energy cost of your Demonologist Spells by 3% per attribute point.
Increases the time your Demons remain under your control by 15% per attribute point.

Destroy target Gateway. All foes in its location take 38..88..108 damage and are knocked down.

1) derivative of WoW. I don't think that's that great a thing, but whatever.
2) demonologist is not a word.
3) Fighting by proxy is interesting, but if your proxy does the cool stuff and you don't, why have a proxy? Go shapeshifter.. oh, you did.

Like I said, if you've seen a Warlock/Demonologist/Summoner, you've seen them all. The premise varies very little.
Besides, I always thought the WoW warlock sucked.. I mean lacked punch.
And hey, at least, no soulshards >_>

Demonology is the systematic study of demons. Insofar as it involves exegesis, demonology is an orthodox branch of theology.
Demonologist is the practitioner of such.

The summoned Demons behave like ranger pets. You can aggro the whole map if you so choose, like with a ranger pet.

The profession has other skills than just demon related, thus making the wielder choose between a full Demonic skillbar and a pet, or a pet and a sacrifice skill and the rest other skills. Or no demon at all and having a skillbar filled with other skills altogether. That's why it also has Enchanting magic for buffing/debuffing as well as Conjuring magic for direct and timed damage effects.

Also note that you will need to summon a Gateway to use some related skills.
Like summoning any demons or allies.

You don't go around and see Paladins dealing extra damage against holy creatures.

Use better skill names, Enchant X : Y is repetitive and boring.

This concept is like having Ritualist and Beastmaster Ranger combined. Summoning is fun when you have a big army. Having 1 summoning that you continuously boost is NOT fun. Most people want to feel power when they play and killing people with their 1 summon doesn't give them that feeling. That's why there is a shortage of healing and prot monks but an excess of tanks (who think they are the ownage).

Step AWAY from WoW classes. Being inspired is fine, but you are pretty much taking stuff from WoW and converting it to GW and in the process throwing your own ideas, thus worsening the concept.

If you are going to make a class concept, use your own, not stuff from other games. The whole point of making something is to be creative anyway.

i hate it when ppl take WoW stuff and try to convert it to GW, its just so unorigingal that its stupid. O, and painful bond encantment is a hex for the rit. All i have to say about this prof is NO. Its not gonna get made, we have 2 summoners already, 3 if you count the ranger.
